The safety of all Cyclists is a top priority.  All riding practices shall be in accordance with local traffic laws. Riding practices required by Arundel Village Cycle Challenge include but are not limited to the following:

To take part in the 17km or the 35km Challenge, Cyclists must be at least 12 years old.
To take part in the 50km Challenge, Cyclists must be at least 15 years old.
Cyclists must be in good health and well trained.
Only Mountain Bikes in good working order may be used.
Cyclists must wear their Arundel Village Cycle Challenge number visible at all times during the Arundel Village Cycle Challenge.
Maintenance of bikes during the Arundel Village Cycle Challenge is the responsibility of each Cyclist.
Cyclists are required to complete the full distance of the Challenge per category entered with their bikes and in the time allowed.
Cyclists must obey all traffic laws, signs, and signals.
Hard shell approved cycling helmets must be worn by all Cyclists.
Cyclists need a GPS to ride the 17, 35 and 50 km race. Or they need to team up with someone who has one.
All Cyclists may register with strava to assist with time recording.
Cyclists must ride no more than two abreast, returning to single-file if riding two abreast would impede the flow of traffic.
Timing will start with the start gun at 07:30am.
Cyclists are not permitted to take any short cuts or omit any part of the route.
All times will be recorded by the Race Official.
All prize winners will be decided in the sole discretion of the Race Official and the Race Officials discretion will be final.
The interpretations of these rules are entirely at the discretion of the Race Official.
